it's april. the first came and went with no april fool's jokes this year - none made to me or by me. i remember i loved april fool's when i was little, and would make a big production of yelling for my mother to come see "the elephant on the street" or some similar invention of mine. then when she'd get to the door i'd yell "april fool's!" and laugh and laugh.
april showers bring may flowers. actually there are plenty of flowering plants already and everyone's sneezing up a storm around these parts. also, we're anticipating the cicadas which i'm almost looking forward to -- in the witnessing-a-biblical-scale-plague-of-locusts sense, but not in the bugs-in-my-hair sense. at least hopefully they won't be deadly.
also - first weekend in april - the clocks change. as much as i (and public enemy!) hated arizona for not observing mlk day as a national holiday, they do one thing right. no daylight savings time. no "spring forward, fall back" nonsense.
