A Different Kind of Bounty
I have learned from watching the show Dog the Bounty Hunter that there is a big-ass meth problem in Hawaii. And that if you are poor in Hawaii, you live in the projects, just like here. I always thought it would be so romantic, just a beach hut and a banana tree. That sort of thing. But it basically looks the same as it looks here but with a couple raggedy palm trees around.
I have read that Hawaii ranks FIFTH in the nation for meth addiction. Hawaiin officials claim their state is infact the worst. One of the problems seems to be, according to CBS News, that they get their meth from California and Mexico in a particularly pure form, called ice, and it is most usually smoked as its method of injestion. Forty percent of people admitted to jails in Hawaii test positive for meth.
That makes me sad. Right in the middle of paradise.
